5 Things You Learn In Your 30’s

So today is my birthday. I was born on February 9th, 1990. God has blessed me with someone that I can always share a birthday with. My twin, my other half, and my whole heart. My twin sister Rebekah. Happy Birthday to my twin too.

So I’m 32….Damn I’m 32. I feel like a totally different person than who I was in my 20’s. Now I’m in my early 30’s and I’m still trying to figure out life. You gain wisdom the older you get.

With that being said I want to share with you some of the things I learned in my 30’s:

1. Listen to Your Body…Seriously Listen

My body doesn’t feel the same as it did in my 20’s. I realized that the less water I drink, I get more leg cramps and knee pain. Stop your laughing right now. LOL When I eat something with high sodium or just bad ingredients period, I get headaches. I already told you that I’ve been through a life changing health scare before so I listen to my body very closely. 10 years from now, I’m going to be 42! I don’t want to be taking crazy medications with uncomfortable side effects so I made the decision to take care of my body now so I can age with great health. Yes I still have cheat days but with moderation. Down the line, I know my body will thank me.

2. Bask in Gratitude… Everyday

I can’t say this enough. Be so grateful….Extra grateful for everything that you have. We have been through so much in this insane world. You are going to always want something that you can’t have right now. But, there is something that you can always have and that something is called Gratitude. Everyone has at least one thing that they can be grateful for. I promise you, I can be in the worst mood ever but if I sit down and reflect on the things that I already have and the miracles that GOD has performed in my life I feel a little better each time. Thank you Jesus for absolutely everything in my life.

3. Get a Journal and Write Down Your Goals

Now this is something that I have been doing for years! It’s such a special energy when you see your goals written down on paper and then see them manifest. I’m telling you, write down the VISION! That’s in the God's Word ya’ll. I had goals and dreams that I wrote down wayyy back in 2013. They have a full date. When they manifest, I write down the date that they manifested and I can’t describe the feeling. It’s beautiful. It’s real. It sets you up to believe and trust in God that HE can seriously do anything that you ask HIM for. Write it down y’all.

4. Find Balance in Your Life

When I was in my 20’s I was a workaholic. I would work crazy overtime hours and then work my side job doing late night events just to wake up early in the morning to do it all again. It’s cute when your younger but y’all I can’t do that anymore! LOL It’s okay to work hard, not be lazy, and avoid procrastination, but there has to be a balance. You will turn around and not pay attention to your health. Then all the stuff that you were doing has to be stopped without your control. Work but create a balance in your life where you can stop, pause, and reset. Avoid the burn out so you can give your best self at all times.

5. Go After What You Want…Stop being so SHY!!

Growing up, I used to be SUPER shy. If you ask anyone that I went to school with, they would be like “Rachel don’t talk” LOL I started becoming more social when I was in college because I met people outside of the small town that I was raised in. Now I am SUPER BOLD and can talk to anyone. I’m not shy to speak up and say I’m feeling a guy. If someone is disrespectful to me I’m not going to spazz out but I will let them know what’s up. I’m intentional with what I want out of life because why not? I’m not afraid of other’s people’s opinions AT ALL. I live, love, and have fun in life and I’m unapologetic about it.

Well, I’m so thankful for another trip around the sun. Heres to many more! Happy Birthday to Me!
