So…How Are Millennials Really Feeling Right Now?

First of all, we’re not just TikTok trends 😩
Yesterday, I flipped through one of my old yearbooks. Woah...the things we used to say. Remember writing “H.A.G.S.” in everyone’s book? (FYI, that was short for “Have a Great Summer”). Or writing “K.I.T.” (“Keep in Touch”). And don’t get me started on that mysterious “S” symbol we doodled everywhere… what was the obsession?
Back then, we handed each other phone numbers on scraps of paper, promising we’d call. No FaceTime, no DM, no disappearing messages. Just you and a landline.
These are just the little things that come up when I think about every time I see a TikTok that says, “Millennials be like…”
But FR...didn’t we do the same thing when we were teenagers, clowning on people 35 and up? Circle of life, y’all.
Parenting, Millennial Style
These days, I watch my friends and family raise kids, and let me tell you: kids are PURE COMEDY. Try disciplining one without laughing. I know I can't do it. You ask, “Why did you do that?” and they hit you with the silliest reasoning, or no reasoning at all. You can’t even be mad.
What Makes Us Special
Being a Millennial feels different because we grew up before the internet took over everything. Sure, social media hit when I was in high school (class of 2008, don’t hate), but before that? We really got to be kids. We rode bikes and scooters, played outside until the lights came on, made up games that had no rules but kept us entertained for hours.
So when you poke fun at Millennials online (karma, maybe?), ask what we did to have fun damn LOL.
One More Thing
And because I love a good throwback, my next blog post is going to be all about the games we played growing up. Y’all better stay tuned for that one!
Love, Rach
